About Tyler Soncrainte

Tyler Soncrainte is a 26-year-old lifelong resident of Waterford Township and a proud 2018 graduate of Waterford Kettering High School. He is running for the Waterford School District Board of Education to help strengthen local schools and ensure a bright future for the community.

With a deep commitment to Waterford, Tyler is focused on improving transparency, strengthening relations between the school district and the township, and ensuring that students, parents, and staff feel supported. He is passionate about attracting and retaining families within the district, enhancing academic and extracurricular opportunities, and revitalizing athletics and PAVA programs to better serve students.

As a member of the next generation of leadership, Tyler brings a fresh and balanced perspective. He understands the challenges facing today’s students while also connecting with young families and future parents. He is committed to giving a voice to community members who often feel overlooked and to making sure decisions reflect the needs of the entire district.

Tyler has a strong background in local leadership and community involvement. He recently served as Vice Chair of the Waterford Cable Commission and as an Alternate on the Waterford Zoning Board of Appeals. His experience also includes serving as a Precinct Delegate, along with involvement in statewide committees focused on agriculture, education, leadership, and community development. Professionally, Tyler works for a nonprofit organization and is also a small business owner.

In addition to his professional and civic experience, Tyler has completed extensive leadership training through nationally recognized programs, equipping him with the tools to lead effectively and responsibly. His previous campaign experience further demonstrates his dedication to public service.

Tyler is running to bring practical leadership, accountability, and a forward-looking vision to the Waterford School District—focused on what matters most: students, families, and the future of the community.
